Identity verification and AML screening. Every know your customer check and source of funds request on the platform runs through Sumsub.

What the connection carries

Who owns what
Scalara owns the integration and the record it writes. Sumsub owns its own service, under its own terms.

What the integration covers

The capabilities this connection actually carries. Anything Sumsub sells that is not on this list is not part of what you get here.

A player record in the back office, its status chips reading Account Active, Tier 2, KYC Verified and AML Clear beside a link out to the Sumsub cockpit, with the Documents tab listing the selfie and identity card steps as passed.
Identity and compliance
  • Identity verification at signup and on demand

Document and biometric checks are raised from the player record and returned into it, with the attempt visible while it is still open.

  • Source of funds requests

Evidence requests are issued against a player and tracked to a decision rather than handled over email.

  • AML screening after approval

Screening runs automatically once a player is approved, so an approval is never the end of the check.

  • A reviewer view alongside the platform record

Staff move between the player record and the verification provider without losing the case they are working on.

Sumsub is an identity verification and anti money laundering provider. Operators use it to prove that a person is who they claim to be, to collect evidence about where money came from, and to screen names against the lists that regulated businesses have to screen against.

Inside Scalara

Sumsub is the verification engine behind every player on the platform. A check is raised from the player record and the result comes back into the same record, so the account, the documents, the current attempt and the decisions taken sit in one place. The verification attempt has its own timeline, from queued to pending to reviewed, which means a stalled check is visible rather than something a reviewer discovers by chance. Once a player is approved, AML screening runs automatically. The outcome is written into the player's compliance tier, and the tier is what the wallet consults before it moves any money. Every view of a player's identity document is itself recorded in the audit trail with the name of the staff member who opened it.

The problem it removes

Without this wiring, verification lives in a second system and the platform only ever learns the answer. Deposits clear while a screening result is still in flight, reviewers work from a spreadsheet of case numbers, and nobody can reconstruct afterwards what was known at the moment a payment was released. Connecting the check to the tier, and the tier to the wallet, closes that gap.

What stays with you

The decisions are yours. You choose which markets you accept, where the thresholds sit for each brand, what evidence you require at each tier, and what happens to an escalated case. You hold the commercial relationship for your own regulatory obligations, and you retain the judgement calls that a rule cannot make.

Where it sits on the platform

It underpins compliance and audit, gates wallet and payments, and drives the verification stage of auto-provisioning.

Questions about Sumsub

Identity and source of funds checks through Sumsub, AML screening that runs automatically after approval, a five tier trust model deciding deposit and withdrawal eligibility per player, responsible gambling states built into the account core, a tamper evident audit trail covering player, staff and system actions, and one click regulator evidence packs built on that trail.

None of it is a paid extra. It is included because a platform that treats compliance as an upsell is a platform you will eventually replace.

You are, and we build the platform so that you can be. We supply the checks, the tiers, the gates and the record. You decide which markets to accept, where thresholds sit, what evidence each tier requires and what happens to an escalated case.

On the White Label route we also carry our own obligations as the licensee, which is why a new casino needs both platform approval and your explicit launch. Neither of us can sign that off alone.
