Two ways to launch on Scalara

One question decides it: whether you hold a gaming licence today. Both routes run the same platform underneath.

How this comparison was made

Both sides of this comparison are ours, so read it as our own description rather than an independent review. Every line describes how the two routes actually work today, and the licence position is stated exactly as it is stated on our licensing page and on the certificate itself.

Comparing Scalara Platform with Scalara's own two routes. Sources last checked on 6 September 2026. We publish no scores and no ranking.

The nine differences that actually matter

Everything else about the two routes is identical, because the software is identical. These are the lines where the answer genuinely changes.

The platform

Both routes run the same codebase. What changes is who holds the licence, who holds the payment relationships and who runs the operation.

The back office is the same one, whichever route you take

Both routes run the same codebase, so the screens an operator works in every day are identical. What the comparison above changes is who holds the licence, who holds the payment relationships and who runs the operation, not what the software does.

  • The same brand configuration

Colours, logo, favicon, lobby layout, widgets and languages are set in Brand Studio on both routes, with no developer on your side.

  • The same player record

Account status, compliance tier, verification state and the controls that act on them sit on one record, in one place.

  • The same reconciled ledger

Real, bonus and locked balances are held apart on one account and reconciled into one set of books, across fiat and crypto.

  • The same audit trail

Player, staff and system actions land in one searchable, tamper evident stream, which is what a regulator question is answered from.

Brand Studio with the colour palette editor on the left and, on the right, the live player lobby preview it produces for the brand being configured.

Start from where you actually are

The licence question answers itself. If you hold one, the second card is yours. If you do not, the first card is the only one of the two you can act on this quarter.

Under our licence

White Label

New and smaller operators without a licence of their own.

You trade under Scalara's Anjouan licence. Identity checks, payment orchestration, platform, games and back office arrive as one route into operation.

  • You are preparing a first casino operation
  • There is no live player base to move
  • You want the initial platform and provider setup coordinated
  • You have no development team, and do not intend to hire one
Under your licence

Turnkey Platform

Established operators with their own licence and their own team.

You license the platform layer and keep the licence, the payments and the operation. Migration and multi-brand administration are part of the route.

  • You already hold the relevant licence
  • You are assessing a migration from another platform
  • You have integration and configuration requirements of your own
  • Multi-brand administration is central to the operating model

When neither route is the right answer

Four situations where we would tell you to look elsewhere, or to wait.

  • You need a market we cannot serve

Our licence covers business to consumer gaming activities in one jurisdiction. If your target markets need an authority we do not hold, White Label is closed to you, and Turnkey rests on a licence you would have to obtain first.

  • Your first product is sports betting

Sportsbook is in active development, so an operator whose opening product is sports has nothing to launch here today. We would rather say that now than sequence you into a wait.

  • You expect the vendor to run marketing

We do not provide affiliate management, campaign automation or a customer relationship management tool, and we do not run acquisition for you. An operator without its own marketing function feels that gap on both routes.

  • Owning the source code is the point

Neither route sells you the codebase. If ownership of the software itself is the requirement, rather than ownership of the deployment, the build page sets out what that actually costs.

Both routes are worth saying no to when they do not fit.

A platform decision that has to be unwound in eighteen months costs more than the one you never signed.

Questions the route choice raises

We will tell you honestly rather than optimistically. We hold one licence, described on our licensing page, and we do not hold licences from other authorities.

Whether you can serve a given market depends on that licence, on your own licence if you have one, and on the rules of the jurisdiction, including whether it permits remote gaming from outside it. Market fit is assessed during discovery, before anything is committed.

Two ways, both public. The licence appears on the Anjouan gaming public register, which anyone can search without asking us for anything. We also publish a copy of the certificate as a downloadable file on our licensing page, alongside the licence number, the licensed entity, the scope and the validity window.

If your legal team wants something else during due diligence, ask. We would rather answer a hard question early than have it surface after a contract is signed.

You are, and we build the platform so that you can be. We supply the checks, the tiers, the gates and the record. You decide which markets to accept, where thresholds sit, what evidence each tier requires and what happens to an escalated case.

On the White Label route we also carry our own obligations as the licensee, which is why a new casino needs both platform approval and your explicit launch. Neither of us can sign that off alone.

That is one of the reasons brands are genuinely separated. A brand carries its own player accounts, its own creative library, its own back office and its own audit history, so it can be treated as a discrete asset rather than a slice of a shared database that has to be untangled first.

The commercial and regulatory work of a sale is still real, including the licence position and the player communications. The platform is not the part that blocks it.

Still not sure which route fits

Tell us where you are with the licence and we will tell you which route we would put you on, including when the answer is neither.

We reply within one working day.
